Two Burlington Flag Football Teams Vie for National Championship


Two Burlington flag football teams, one in the under-18 and another in under-16 categories, will represent Ontario at the national flag football championships this week-end in Halifax, a Football Canada event where 24 teams and 216 players and coaches will play July 23-25.

The teams were assembled from Burlington Minor Football Association (BMFA) flag football players available to travel and compete in the week-end event. Many of the athletes play other sports at a rep level and use football as off season training. Flag football is played across Canada from late April to early July.
“This is an excellent opportunity for these fine young athletes,” said BMFA president Jay Stillie. “BMFA is proud that our dedication to the grassroots level will be on display on the national stage.”
