Two CFC100s land with Guelph

Guelph adds two top recruits to their 2020 class.

CFC100 linebacker Nathan Condello and CFC100 defensive end Daniel Hocevar from Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School will be continuing their football journey together on the University of Guelph Gryphons.

For Nathan Condello, Guelph just felt right. “I chose to sign with Guelph because it gave me that ‘gut feeling,’ and I can see they are building something special with the current team and new recruits,” he said.

He added that, “The Guelph coaching staff was one of the main reasons I decided to commit. Coach Sheahan, Sardo and McPhee are all great coaches with a lot of experience, and I know I will learn a lot.”

Condello will be studying social sciences. He said he believes the program will give him a variety of career paths after football.

Standing at 6’0, 218lbs, he played for seven years for the Bishop Ryan Celtics (HWDCSB) and the Hamilton Junior Tiger Cats in his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario. In Grade 10, he helped his team win a HWDCSB championship for the first time in 20 years. He was the team’s 2017 MVP.

CFC100 Daniel Hocevar

Daniel Hocevar is also from Hamilton and played with the Celtics as well. Standing at 6’4, 265lbs, he as lined up as a defensive end, tackle, and defensive tackle. Alongside the Junior Tiger-Cats, Hocevar spent a season with Football North Clarkson. He also participated in the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge.
