Twenty-three young Cambridge football players turned up Sunday morning to get instruction from two of Cambridge’s best young athletes.
Tyler Varga and Peter Gray hosted a camp for Cambridge football players looking to improve their basic skills. Assisted by team-mates Cory Prince and Ashton Adams, and Tyler’s father John, the young players were put through their paces for two hours.
Gray and Varga are team-mates with the Cambridge Varsity Lions as well as the Western Ontario team for the Football Canada Cup tournament in Wolfville Nova Scotia July 10-17. The tournament features eight teams from across Canada, representing the best under-18 football players.
Participants in Football Canada Cup must pay their own way to Wolfville, and the $30 registration fee for the camp went towards transportation costs for the two players.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
