In a recent article, I quoted Champlain College coach JF Joncas who suggested that there are 3 categories of U Sports programs; divided as follows:
- teams that will challenge every year
- teams that will challenge periodically – “when it all comes together”
- those with little if any chance to compete nationally
My first and casual approach to splitting the schools into each classification resulted in 6 schools at the highest level, 9 in the middle and 12 at the bottom. I thought it would be interesting and potentially provocative to take a closer look. I, therefore, looked at the records of all schools over the last 10 years; if there is one thing we know about history – it is that history tends to repeat itself.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
