The University of Windsor’s Division of Athletics and Recreational Services invites applications for a Three-Year Limited-Term Ancillary Academic Staff position – Head Coach of the Lancers Football team commencing as early as January 15, 2019 and will be renewable for periods of two (2) to five (5) years after the initial three-year term.  This position will oversee all operations related to the Lancer Football program. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The Windsor Lancers Football team competes in the Ontario University Athletics conference and U SPORTS competition.  Athletics and Recreational Services is looking for applicants who will work with administration, alumni and various stakeholders to develop a championship culture.  For further information about the University of Windsor Lancers, visit our web site at http://www.golancers.ca.

The Football Head Coach is responsible for the organization, administration, coaching, recruitment and fundraising duties for the football program. The incumbent will demonstrate proficiency in creating a culture that embraces and supports student-athletes, coaches and the team in the pursuit of excellence and will contribute to the activities and services that support the overall program and help create an outstanding student experience.  The Head Coach manages the team’s annual budget, monitors academic progress of student athletes and provides direction to all football coaching staff. The Head Coach also helps the University build community support for the football team and contributes to resource development initiatives to enhance the overall program.

Additional administrative duties within the Division of Athletics and Recreational Services will also be assigned.  This position will also have instructional responsibility for a course in the Faculty of Human Kinetics.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in coaching at an elite level, with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as head coach or assistant coach at the University or College level. Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills, and an undergraduate degree are required; a Master’s degree is preferred.  The candidate must have National Coaching Certification Level II or equivalent. A proven ability to recruit student-athletes is required, as is the knowledge of U SPORTS and OUA rules and regulations.
