Underhill joins Varsity Blues

The Varsity Blues football program is pleased to announce the addition of Rob Underhill to its staff. He is the latest addition to U of T’s expanding coaching roster and will be responsible for the defensive backs.

Underhill is currently the head coach and defensive coordinator of the Hamilton Hurricanes in the Hamilton Wentworth Minor Football Association and the defensive backs coach for Team Ontario.

“Rob is a great fit for the Varsity Blues program,” said head coach Greg Gary, now in his third season at the helm.  “His experience in the OUA, and at all levels of football in Ontario, is invaluable. I’m positive that will prove dividends to our players and our team as a whole.”

A NCCP certified coaching instructor, Underhill is no stranger to Ontario University Athletics having started his playing career with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (1992-95) and finishing his university tenure as a member of the Marauders (1997).

His coaching career has including stops in the Hamilton Catholic League, CJFL Hamilton Ironmen as defensive coordinator as well as defensive backs coach, defensive coordinator and head coach for the OVFL’s Varsity Ironmen.
