Vancouver College (CFC #11) defeat historic rival

The Vancouver College Fighting Irish walked back in time to the site of 21 of the previous 54 Archbishop`s Trophy games and beat up the Notre Dame Jugglers 27-6.

The win marked the seventh straight Irish win in the series which ties the mark set by the Jugglers in the `70`s for the second longest winning streak in the historic series. The game also marked the regular season conclusion to the historic coaching career of George Oswald.

The Irish despite taking nearly 100 yards in penalties managed to run and throw the ball well and the defence stepped up with three turnovers.

The Jugglers offense struggled throughout the game to get any real consistency out of their club despite this Shane Devlin showed signs of being the top end tailback he has been throughout the season.

Both teams move into the playoffs. The Irish have a bye awaiting the winner of New West-Centennial while Notre Dame will play Salmon Arm with the winner to play Terry Fox in the quarterfinals.
