To Whom It May Concern:
Football is a game that asks of an individual what no other game asks, both physically and mentally. The game teaches a young man or woman what is possible and how to overcome adversity. Most importantly, the game of football, like life, teaches us the value of being part of something bigger than ourselves, and forces us to sacrifice our personal agendas for the good of the team.
During the week of November 21st to 27th the city of Vancouver will host a celebration of Canadian Football, which will include the 99th annual Grey Cup game and the 47th annual CIS Championship the Vanier Cup. The majority of the Canadian born players playing in both those games learned the fundamentals at a young age, right here in Canada.
The Suitor Football College is a one day event with the goal to teach 400 young aspiring football players some of the fundamentals of the game from some of the top professional and University players in our Country. There will be two separate two and a half hour sessions, and players will learn some of the favorite drills run by professionals and Hall of Fame players including Matt Dunigan, Milt Stegall, and Geroy Simon to name of few.
Participants will receive a practice jersey and a playbook which will contain the drills run in practice so that they can continue to work on their game on their own and with their teammates. Lunch will also be provided and there will be a chance for all participants to get their playbooks signed by the Pros and College Stars.
To succeed in the game of football takes a tremendous amount of self discipline and dedication. Due to the physical nature of the game, learning the fundamentals early in life will not only help to protect a young man or women from injury, but will also give them the necessary edge to succeed.
Thank you for your support of grass routes football in our country. The future Geroy Simons, and Matt Dunigans may be in our own back yard, letβs support those young players and help them achieve their dreams.
Sincerely,
Glen Suitor
