Sherbrooke Vert et Or scored a 21-8 victory over the Bishop’s Gaiters Saturday afternoon, during a mini pre-season game staged in front of a thousand spectators.
Defensive back Mathieu Quirion and running backs Alexander Aubé and Isaac Lauzon scored the three touchdowns to end the second week of training camp on a high note. Quarterbacks Jeremi Roch and Jean-Christophe Bourque-St-Hilaire shared playing time to guide the Vert et Or’s attack in this game. The mini-meeting also resulted in a period of game control between the two teams, to the desire of the two head coaches.
Veteran wide receiver Jerome Mercier scored the only touchdown for the Gaiters on a twenty yard pass from quarterback Shane MacDonald.
The regular season will begin at home for the Vert et Or on Saturday at 4pm as they welcome the McGill Redmen.
