Victory on Family Day

The Varsity Hamilton Hurricanes by-passed their usual home venue to get back to grass roots at Macrae Park in Rocton where “Family Day” was the main theme.

All age groups from 7 years of age to 19 played their games surrounded by bouncy castles, pie throwing events and field goal competitions.

The Varsity team gave an impressive showing making short work of a rebuilding Clarington Knights 73-0.

All three quarterbacks scored on touchdown drives while running back Jason Ledonne ran for two touchdowns. Other scorers were; Petermann, Ciaverella, Reddick, L.Putt and McNeil.

Defensively, Daniel McNicoll and White both had interceptions for touchdowns, while Zulak blocked a Clarington punt and scampered in for the TD.

β€œAlthough the score was lopsided we took some positives from the game” said Head Coach Rob Underhill. “We were not only able to play everyone, but everyone was able to contribute.”

“Our plan has not changed. Every week is preparation to be competitive at the end of the season”

The Canes travel to Niagara to face the Storm at Kiwanis Park on Saturday.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
