Waterloo region all-stars: Barry takes home the Doug Shuh award

For the second year in a row, a Waterloo Sir John A. MacDonald Highlander has been named Waterloo Region’s most valuable high school football player.

Fifth-year receiver / db / returner Theshawn Barry is this year’s winner of the Doug Shuh Award.  The honour is voted on by WCSSAA coaches and goes to a graduating student-athlete.  Cameron Heights quarterback Malcolm Tibbets was the only other player nominated.  Former winners include Andrew McWhinnie (2011), Tyler Varga (2010), and Andrew Thibaudeau (2009).

Barry scored twelve touchdowns this season, as the Highlanders won their second straight Waterloo County title.
