Waterloo Warriors welcome 2 CFC100s

Warriors add two top recruits to their 2018 class.

CFC100 linebacker Jack Hinsperger from Mercersburg Academy and CFC100 defensive back Andy Melo from Royal Imperial Collegiate of Canada have both been playing American football, but they will now be returning to the Canadian game after signing with the University of Waterloo Warriors.

CFC100 Jack Hinsperger

Before moving to Pennsylvania to play with the Mercersburg Academy Blue Storm, Jack Hinsperger was playing football in his hometown of Waterloo, Ontario, with the Resurrection Phoenix (WCSSAA). He also suited up for such teams as the Cambridge Lions (OPFL) and the Twin Cities Warhawks and Predators. In grade nine and ten, he won two defensive MVP awards with the Phoenix.

Standing at 6’1, 220lbs, he can run the 40-yard dash in 4.78 seconds and can rep 225lbs 17 times. He also wrestled while at Mercersburg.

CFC100 Andy Melo

Andy Melo has been apart of two Fox 40 Prospect Challenges. In 2016, he was named as the defensive player of the game for the sophomore edition of Team Halton-Peel. He returned in 2017 to play with the Halton-Peel varsity squad. He had a fumble recovery, which he returned for over 60 yards, against Team Central. He is 5’11, 180lbs and has played as a free safety and cornerback with the RICC Knights. The product of Georgetown, Ontario, was a captain on the team.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
