WECSSAA all-stars: Holy Names grab two awards, eight all-stars selections

The Holy Names Fighting Knights nabbed two major honours as the Windsor-Essex County Secondary School Athletic Association (WECSSAA) recently announced Tier 1 football all-stars and award winners.

Two-way player Carson Ouellette was named the league’s Defensive MVP.  The 5’10, 170 pound player played at both the defensive back and running back positions for the Fighting Knights.  Teammate Dakoda Shepley was chosen as the league’s Lineman of the Year.  The 6’6, 280 pound standout played at the offensive tackle position for the Fighting Knights.

Herman Green Griffins running back Jaydon Gauthier was selected as the league’s Offensive MVP.  Meanwhile, the Cardinal Carter Cougars were named Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Fighting Knights led the way in all-star selections by fielding eight players on the list.
