Week 9 OFC Players of the Week – Archer, Jacobs, Bartolomeo


Offensive: #21 Joel Archer – SB – Windsor AKO Fratmen

5 carries for 139 yards, 5 catches for 158 yards and 5 TD’s in a 62-7 victory over Burlington

Joel Archer, 3rd Year SB out of Herman HS in Windsor, carried the Fratmen to a victory in an OFC Semi-Final match-up with the Burlington Braves. The former Green Griffin carried the ball 5 times for 139 yards, and caught 5 passes from QB Christian Hackney for 158 yards and 5 touchdowns. Archer’s 5 touchdown catches sets a new AKO Record for touchdown receptions in a play-off game. Joel now has 1102 yards of total offense, and his 16 touchdowns and 96 points scored are tops in the OFC for the season. Joel and his Fratmen team mates play host to the Hamilton Hurricanes in the OFC Final on Saturday at 1pm at Alumni Field.

Defensive: #37 Dan Jacobs – DE – Windsor AKO Fratmen

3 solos, 1 assist, 2 sacks, 13 points, in a 62-7 victory over Burlington in an OFC Semi-Final

Dan Jacobs, 2nd Year DE out of Cardinal Carter SS in Leamington, had an outstanding game in helping the Fratmen dominate the Braves. Jacobs, the former Cougar, had 3 solo tackles, 1 assist, and 2 sacks, helping him accumulate 13 defensive points. The Kingsville native, who switched from RB to DE, was directly responsible for forcing 3 more QB sacks on the evening, as his AKO defensive mates benefited from his relentless pressure on the Braves’ QB. Dan will look to continue his consistent, strong play when the Fratmen host the Hamilton Hurricanes in the OFC Final on Saturday. Game time is set for 1pm at Alumni Field.

Special Teams: #10 Chris Bartolomeo – K – Hamilton Hurricanes

7 K/O for 305 yards, 2 FG, 4 PAT, in a 42-3 victory over St. Leonard in an OFC Semi-Final

Chris Bartolomeo, 2nd Year Kicker from St. Jean de Brebeuf in Hamilton had a great night kicking the football in the Hurricanes’ 42-3 OFC semi-final win over the St. Leonard Cougars. The double major (English & Religion) McMaster student had 7 kick-offs for 305 yards, 4 converts, and 2 field goals (19, 13 yards) in the game. Chris and his Hurricane team mates will look to capture the OFC Title when they travel to Windsor to face the undefeated AKO Fratmen. Kick-off is set for 1pm on Saturday at Alumni Field.
