Western commit ready for new opportunity

Western adds an OUA transfer to their team.

Jackson White, a quarterback from Jacob Hespeler High School, is ready to start fresh with the Western Mustangs.

“I loved the winning culture at Western. My dad won a Vanier and I wanted to follow in his footsteps,” White said. “The coaching staff has been great with me in recruiting and I can’t wait to work with them. Having played against them, they are extremely well prepared, and players buy in.”

White, who is 6’4, 230lbs, spent five years with the Jacob Hespler Hawks (WCSSAA) and five with the Cambridge Lions (OPFL). The product of Cambridge, Ontario, also played two seasons with the McMaster Marauders. He was a four-time WCSSAA champion with the Hawks from 2013 to 2016. He also won a CWOSSA championship with the team. He was the 2016 WCSSAA MVP. That same year he won an OVFL championship with the Lions. In 2017, he made the OUA all-rookie team while at McMaster.

The social sciences student is ready for a new beginning. He said, “I’m really motivated (and) ready to move on from Mac and join Western.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
