Western lands two more linemen

When it comes to recruiting linemen in the class of 2011, the Western Mustangs continue to hold the top spot in Ontario. Toronto natives Winston Miles and Ben Risen have committed to the Mustangs. Offensive Line coach Chris Bertoia had this to say about both players.

About Winston Miles:

“We’re happy that Winston decided that Western was the best fit for him. He has worked very hard over the past two years to put himself in a position to compete immediately. He had a very good season last fall at North Georgia Prep, and I know that he had a great learning experience with Team World going against some very talented players on Team USA. We have high expectations for Winston and believe he will have a very successful university career.”

About Ben Risen:

“Ben is a hard working interior offensive lineman who has the ability to compete at both Guard and Center during his career at Western. He is a very intelligent young man and we’re happy that he decided to commit to Western. I look forward to working with him”

Winston, who CFC featured just before the Team World vs. Team USA game (click here to read that article), is very excited about heading to London. “I am overjoyed to have committed to Western and I am excited for the challenges to come this off-season to better my self in preparation for the season. In the end it came down to the academic program I wanted to pursue, the social life, and the football tradition.”

Both Ben and Winston played high school at Forest Hill collegiate in Toronto and Ben played minor football with the Metro Toronto Wildcats (OVFL). Winston just participated in the Team World vs. Team USA game and played at North Georgia prep in 2010.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
