Western “one of the most elite” programs nationally says #CFC100 recruit (VIDEO)

Winnipeg defensive end joins OUA team’s 2016 class.

Tony Rossi will be making his CIS entrance in Ontario.

Last week, it was announced that the 6’3, 235 pound defensive end from Winnipeg, Manitoba committed to thwe Western Mustangs. Rossi will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

“I committed to the University of Western because of its exceptional academic history, the excellent coaching and high caliber players that their program is made up of, the academic and overall support that they offer,” explained Rossi of his decision.   “Also, because of the family vibe I felt when I visited.”

“Western’s football program is one of the most elite in the country. It has been a power house for many years. Over the years they have had success in entering many players into professional football.”

Rossi completed his final season with Grant Park Pirates of the Winnipeg High School Football League (WHSFL).  During his career, he has received multiple honours including WHSFL’s Kas Vidruk Award, Most Outstanding Lineman, Most Outstanding Defensive Player, Team MVP, made the WHSFL League Honour Roll twice and Most outstanding Defensive Player of the Game at the 2015 Football Canada Cup.
