Wetmore named Tigers Head Coach, announces coaching staff

The Dalhousie Tigers Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Alan Wetmore as the new Head Coach of the program.

Coach Wetmore brings over 20 years of Coaching experience to the team and his appointment will continue to grow the program as we head into our fifth season.

His playing days took him from the Queen Elizabeth High School Lions to the Acadia Axemen, where is a member of the ALL Decade Team. Alan continued to play football professionally, where he was a 5th overall pick in the 1993 Canadian Football League DraftΒ  by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Coach Wetmore played for the Blue Bombers for two season, before joining the Montreal Alouettes in 1996. He was was privileged to be considered a Captain of all the teams he participated on except the Blue Bombers.

He has held numerous coaching positions, including his most recent as Head Coach of the Sir John A Flames up until the 2012 NSSAFFL season.

He is a Graduate of Acadia University and has been a Strength and Conditioning Coach, a Personal Achievement Coach and a business owner for 20 years. Developing close to 4000 people, including time as a Team Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Montreal Alouettes, St. Mary’s Huskies and Mount Allison Mounties.

Coach Wetmore brings a number of new faces with him to the program, including offensive coordinator Evan Brown,Β Offensive Line Coaches Shaun Carvery and Mike Hubley, Defensive Line Coaches Mark Haggett and Nate Annan, Recievers Coach James White, as well as Defensive Backs coaches Brock Schmuland and Derick Fury.

Rick Rivers remains as General Manager and Receivers Coach, joined by Receivers Coach Scott Fraser and Running Backs coach Erik Nowak.
