Cole Arnold starting playing football when he was a pee wee with Thunder Bay Minor Football. Cole played five years prior to high school, and also participated in the TBMF Knights summer program attending tournaments in Minnesota for four summers.

At this time Cole has not committed to any schools. He received a letter to visit a NCAA Division 3 school in St.Paul’s Minnesota this past winter to see their school and program. Right now all Cole’s options remain open.

Being named player of the game on two occasions were Cole’s highlights from last year.  The first time Cole was named Defensive player of the game he earned 10 tackles and 1 fumble recovery during a regular season game. . “The other for my semi-final when I ran the ball for 80 yards in the 4Q and was named Offensive player of the game,” mentioned Arnold.

The most influential people towards Cole in life are his mom, dad and his papa. When he’s on the gridiron, Cole looks up to Rob Thompson his summer and under 16 coach. Cole explained, “In Football, Rob Thompson my summer and U16 coach has been a great inspiration and friend and has encouraged me to put my best game forward.

When he’s not on the football field, Cole enjoys sailing, hunting and fishing. He also enjoys golfing, skiing and plays organized hockey as well.

Cole hasn’t given too much thought on post-secondary schools. He does enjoy welding and mechanics but he’ll be in high school for 3 more years so he doesn’t know where that will take him just yet.

Last year Cole attended FBU (Football University), and there was a recruitment aspect to it. Cole said,” I think U16 and FBU has given me some exposure and I am hoping that the U18 Canada Cup might continue to build on getting further exposure.”

For his training, Cole has been working out at the gym lifting weights and doing some cross fit. Preparing for the Blue/Gold game and the Football Canada Cup, combined with weights and cross fit has been his work outs. Cole also plays hockey, which his Dad is on him to do more cardio and speed training.

Cole’s plans for this summer are the take a break and enjoy his summer after the Under 18 tournament. He hopes to work with the Ministry of Natural Resources this summer, if he doesn’t have a job working for the city.

In conclusion, Cole added, “I will start preparing for H/S in late August with weight training, and I plan to attend a camp at UMD in Duluth in preparation for my first year of Senior H/S ball.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
