Longtime Windsor football coach Brian Taffinder suddenly passed away last week at the age of 64.
Taffinder began his coaching career with the Windsor AKO Fratmen of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) from 1983-1995 as an offensive line coach.
In 1996, he made the move to the CIS, where he coached the Windsor Lancers for 11 seasons.Β With the Lancers, he coached at running backs, offensive line and special teams until his departure in 2010.Β Overall, Taffinder instructed football at the high school, junior and university levels for over 30 years.
Not only did Taffinder have an extensive coaching resume, but he also excelled as a player.Β He played for the Fratmen and then continued his career south of the border as he suited up for Bowling Green State.
