Winnipeg Football Club elects Liam Martin and Ossama AbouZeid to Board of Directors

The Winnipeg Football Club announced today that Liam Martin and Ossama AbouZeid have been elected to the Board of Directors of the club. Martin is the provincial nominee to the Board.

Martin is currently the Communications Representative, Manitoba, for the Canadian Union of Public Employees. In this role, he writes and designs printed materials, as well as provide counsel to CUPE leaders and staff on communications needs, including strategies, techniques and tactics.

“Liam Martin is a successful individual and someone who will add great depth to our Board of Directors,” said Board Chairman Bill Watchorn. “He is an excellent communicator and has extensive experience at the Province of Manitoba level. We’re very pleased to elect him to the Board of Directors of the Winnipeg Football Club.”

AbouZeid returns to the Board of Directors after having resigned in December of 2010, when he took the position of Project Manager of the new stadium. He later accepted the role of Interim CEO of the Winnipeg Football Club, as the Blue Bombers began a search for a full-time Chief Exective Officer.

“Ossama returns to the board and will continue as the Project Manager of Investors Group Field. His knowledge and expertise in this field are extraordinary, and we’re excited to have him re-join the Board of Directors,” said Board Chairman Bill Watchorn.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
