Winnipeg recruit opts for Dinos (VIDEO)

Winnipeg offensive lineman signs with CWUAA team.

Curtis Krahn found the perfect CIS situation.

Recently, the 6’3, 290 pound offensive lineman from Winnipeg, Manitoba signed with the Calgary Dinos. Krahn will join the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

Overall, the tradition, comfort and strengths of both the academic and football programs were the main factors that played a role in his decision.

“A few of the main reasons I chose to move on to play with the Calgary Dinos is the atmosphere of the group,” elaborated Krahn.  “The coaches and the players really made it feel like home when I went out on my visit.”

“Another reason I chose Calgary was the reputation the football team has had on the field and in the classroom. It shows that they aren’t just athletes but students as well. Also a big factor for me was the amount of support and loyalty they receive from their alumni it showed me that once you’re a part of the Dino, you will always be a part of the Dinos.”

For the past two seasons, the offensive lineman has played for the Winnipeg Rifles of the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL).

“Without the Rifles organization and the coaches, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” expressed Krahn.  “They helped me with every aspect of my game.”
