WOLFE: How Coach Loranger rebuilt a powerhouse at Beauce-Appalaches

Marc Loranger has an excellent and extensive coaching resumé. Loranger started coaching in 1986 as a defensive assistant with Cégep du Vieux Montréal. His several stops between that date and his current posting include head coaching stints at both Mount Allison University and Cégep Édouard-Montpetit, and he has also served as a defensive coordinator at Université de Sherbrooke and Bishop’s University.

He now serves as the Head Coach of the Cégep Beauce-Appalaches Condors. His Condors are the defending DIII Bol d’Or champions and just completed their second consecutive undefeated season. They have made the semifinals once again and are hoping to three-peat as champions again at the end of November.

During a recent conversation, we discussed his career, current team and players, the Condor’s history and future, and most importantly what led a near-dormant program back to relevance.
