WOLFE: Talking with the architect of the new CFC50 National Champions

The above title announced by CFC points out that Huron Heights (New Market, ON) has been chosen Canada’s best high school football program this season. The Warriors defeated the reigning champs St. Thomas More (Hamilton ON) 14-6 in the OFSAA Independent Bowl, handing the Knights their first loss against Canadian competition since 2016 and ending their three year streak atop the CFC50 High School Rankings.

When I called Head Coach Heath Weir to congratulate him on Huron Heights being named Canada’s top team, he had the following comments.

“It’s been a 17-year build. We won the province back in 2012 & 2013, but #1 in Canada is reaching the summit.”
