WOLFE: Talking with the architect of the new CFC50 National Champions

The above title announced by CFC points out that Huron Heights (New Market, ON) has been chosen Canadaā€™s best high school football program this season. The Warriors defeated the reigning champs St. Thomas More (Hamilton ON) 14-6 in the OFSAA Independent Bowl, handing the Knights their first loss against Canadian competition since 2016 and ending their three year streak atop the CFC50 High School Rankings. When I called Head Coach Heath Weir to congratulate him on Huron Heights being named Canadaā€™s top team, he had the following comments.

ā€œIt’s been a 17-year build. We won the province back in 2012 & 2013, but #1 in Canada is reaching the summit.ā€Ā
