Women’s tackle: Quebec tops in inaugural Women’s National Challenge Cup (VIDEO)

Football Canada in partnership with Football QuΓ©bec hosted five senior women’s tackle football provincial teams from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, QuΓ©bec and Atlantic Canada consisting of 150 athletes in the inaugural Women’s National Challenge Cup held August 3 through 5 in Laval at CollΓ¨ge Letendre.Β

QuΓ©bec claimed top spot after going undefeated in round robin mini-game play. Saskatchewan whose lone loss came at the hands of QuΓ©bec claimed second place while Atlantic Canada finished third.

Deserving female coaches were paired with a national team coach who served as a mentor to aid their development. The event also featured a coaching clinic, as well as a group practice developing skills, drills and fundamentals.
