WORLD ANTI-DOPING AGENCY CONFIRMS INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF AMERICAN FOOTBALL MEETS COMPLIANCE

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has confirmed that the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) is compliant with the WADA Code.

American football is one of 19 non-International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognized SportAccord member international federations that are compliant signatories. The full compliant report, list and status can be found here.

The WADA Compliance Report was approved by its Foundation Board at a meeting in Montreal on November 20, and follows the conclusion of a three-year monitoring process whereby WADA assessed the anti-doping rules and regulations of signatories to the Code.

“It is essential that IFAF is WADA compliant and we have worked diligently to ensure that testing and WADA requirements are in place,” said IFAF President TOMMY WIKING. “This is one of the key elements IFAF has adhered to as we continue to seek IOC recognition.”

WADA reported that there was 100% compliance for the 35 Olympic IFs, and 100% compliance for the 32 IFs that form the Association of IOC Recognized International Sports Federations (ARISF). Furthermore, progress is also being made with SportAccord members, with 19 of the 24 signatories, including IFAF, reaching compliance.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
