Michael began his career seven years ago for the Bedford Saints of the Nova Scotia Minor Football Association (NSMFA). He started out as a defensive end but three years ago made the transition to a wide receiver.

He has just completed his first year with Charles P. Allen Cheetahs of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL).

Throughout his career, Michael has earned several awards including Bedford Saints Bantam Offence MVP, Football Nova Scotia Bantam Offence MVP and earned a Game MVP at the Red River Cup.

Being a rookie in the NSSAFFL, Michael took in all that he could and says it is the highlight of last season because of the growth of knowledge he’s gained.

“The highlight of my rookie season on the CPA Cheetahs was definitely learning form the extremely talented receivers we had on our team,” says Michael. “I learned so much just in that one season I think i came out much more skilled and much stronger then when I came in.”

Michael has tremendous respect for his teammates to take him under their wing but is influenced off the field but others.

“Influential people i have in my life right now is my dad and all my coaches, they have all contributed to my football career and supported me,” he says.

The Cheetah’s wide receiver models his game after an NFL great.

“Somebody I am influenced by in football is definitely Randy Moss,” adds Michael.  “I really looked up to him when he played and I feel like I play my position much like he did.”

Although Michael hasn’t had any serious talks with universities, he is hoping to land himself with a CIS school.

“I am not sure what school I will attend but I would like to pursue business,” explains the Cheetahs standout, who is considering St.FX, Saint Mary’s, McMaster and Waterloo among his options.  “I would definitely like to go to a school with a strong football program.”

With the visions set on playing university football, Michael maintains a strict fitness regime to stay in peak condition.

“I train three three to four times a week at the gym and I like to try to get out to a field as much as possible to train my footwork, endurance and train at my position.”

Overall, this young wide receiver is hungry to improve and really show off his skills.

“I will keep training how i am and i will only get quicker, faster, and smarter at my position,” added Forsey.
