Mike Miller commitment

Most recently, both defensive standouts played together at Canada Prep Academy.

“Having Mike Miller join our family here at StFX is an exciting time for our program, Mike will carry on the great tradition of Ottawa area players to play for the X-Men,” commented X-Men Head Coach Gary Waterman.  “Kadel will become the eighth international player on our roster and second from Europe.”

“We are extremely excited to have Mike and Kadel commit together to play at StFX.  They are a great fit for our football program, our university and our community. “

Echoing Waterman’s sentiments was X-Men Offensive Coordinator Steve Snyder.

“We had them on campus for their official visit and they really enjoyed their time, genuine young men who really connected with the family environment we have here, they hit it off with our current players and we knew we had a perfect fit,” recalled Snyder.  “Mike is a very physical defensive back that certainly has a presence on the field and a passion for the game; he really wears his emotions on his sleeve.”

“Kadel has a great frame and really excelled at LB, he also has experience coming off the edge.
We were very impressed with Kadel’s tape and his personality throughout the recruiting process.”

Upon his commitment to the X-Men, King issued the following statement regarding his commitment:

“I chose StFX mainly because of my relationship with the coaches. Coach Gord [Gallimore] has been recruiting me since I was in England (I moved to Canada in August 2014). He and I have developed a great relationship. I also have great respect for Coach Waterman and Coach Snyder. They all were consistent in recruiting me.”

“My family have also backed my decision to join the X Family; this was a big factor in my decision obviously. My visit there was also an eye-opener! The hospitality soon by not only the team but those at X was tremendous!”

“Another reason I chose StFX is due to Mike Miller; he and I will be attending there together this August #KingMillerX . He is a great player and friend I met at Canada Prep, we are constantly pushing each other whether it’s in the weight room, field or even the classroom!”

“Another player who helped my decision was Dejuan Martin, he was on my recruiting trip and he is a player I would love to compete with and we are already friends!”

“Also, players currently on the team like Carl Ford and the QB Dante also showed me the quality of the squad being put together! I believe with all my heart that X can win the AUS this season and challenge for the Vanier the coming seasons.”

“Canada Prep also helped me a lot. My coaches Geoff McArthur and Antonio Banks both have done a lot for me! Coach McArthur was a huge factor in my decision and I’m thankfully for what he’s done for me this year.”
