Oakville fullback joins AUS team’s 2015 class.
StFX X-Men have announced the addition of Marshall Whitall to their football program.
The 6β0, 240 pound fullback from Oakville, Ontario will join the team for the 2015 AUS season.
Among the teams Whitall has played for during his career include White Oaks Wildcats of the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA), Oakville Titans of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) and Halton Cowboys of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).
βMarshall is a guy who runs well for his size, he demonstrated the ability to play physical with his defensive tape,β commented X-Men Offensive Coordinator Steve Snyder.Β βWe see Marshall as a player with potential to play a number of different positions but will begin his career on offense in the backfield.β
βWe are really excited about the type of player Marshall can become here at X.β
After encountering a welcoming atmosphere at the Antigonish, Nova Scotia campus, Whitall felt it was just the place for him to excel in his academic and gridiron goals.
βPicking a school was very hard for me but when I visited StFX and met some of the players and coaches, they made me feel welcome and that helped me decide that it was the right school for me,β elaborated Whitall.Β βI feel that StFX will give me my best chance to succeed both on the field and school.β
βIβm truly honored to be given this opportunity to go to one of the best schools in the country and also play the game I love.β
