York Lions hire Dan Younis as recruiting coordinator


Head Coach Warren Craney continues to build a strong foundation north of the 401 at the York campus. Coach Craney announced that they have hired Dan Younis as their recruiting coordinator. Dan was with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues (In Season Recruiting Coordinator, Film Coordinator and Assistant Offensive Line Coach) and is still coaching with the Etobicoke Eagles (OVFL). He has also coached in all-star games for Ron Dias, FBU, and Elite Sports. Here are what Coach Craney and Dan said about the hiring:

Coach Craney:
“I just Hired Dan Younis to be our Recruiting Coordinator and RB’s coach. He will still coach the Etobicoke Eagles in the summer. I am very excited to have a quality person like Dan come on board to coach and join the York family. ”

Dan Younis:
“I’m very excited to join Coach Craney and his staff. York has already done a great job recruiting, hopefully together we can bring the Lions back to the playoffs and further.”

Bio:

Dan Younis began working with the Etobicoke Eagles in the Ontario Varsity Football League in 2008 as an offensive line coach and became the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach beginning in the 2009 season. He also travelled to Hawaii in the summer of 2009, where he acted as an assistant head coach and defensive coordinator of the Elite Sports King Kamehameha tournament.

Dan was an offensive lineman for the Colonel By Cougars from 2001-05 and was named an all-city tackle and an East all-star in 2005. He played for the Varsity Blues offensive line in 2006 before he suffered a career-ending injury in 2007.
