York adds one local commit and one out-of-province commit to their 2019 class.
Logan Scott, an offensive lineman from Northwest Kings Education Centre, and Gregory Minto-Clarke, a defensive back from Central Tech High School, will be continuing their careers with the York Lions.
Logan Scott
Logan Scott will be leaving the east coast on route to Canada’s largest city. “The reason I chose York was because of the coaches, players and atmosphere. Being from a very small town and being able to move to Toronto was something I found really interesting,” said Scott, who is from Centreville, Nova Scotia.
“All the coaches were very great people and made me feel welcome as soon as I went on my visit,” he added. “Also, the campus was tremendous.”
Scott, who is interested in nursing, played with the NKEC Titans (NSSAFFL) and the Canada Prep Raiders. The 6’5, 310lbs tackle and guard also played with the Valley Bulldogs. While with the Titans, the team went undefeated this past season. They capped it off with a Division 2 Provincial championship, only allowing ten points all year including the playoffs. He won three provincials in his four years with the Titans.
Gregory Minto-Clarke
Gregory Minto-Clarke is already familiar with the football scene in Toronto, Ontario. He calls the city home. Standing at 6’0, 160lbs, he played with the Central Tech Blues (TDSAA). According to HUDL, he can complete the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, the 100-meter dash in 11.6 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 54.66 seconds. He can also bench 70lbs, squat 90lbs and deadlift 225lbs. He can complete 5 reps of 185lbs.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
