Since grade 5, Adam has been playing football at various levels.  For the past nine seasons, he has suited up for the Huronia Stallions of the Ontario Football Conference.

Recently, he completed a five year stint with his high school team, St. Joan of Knights of the Georgian Bay Secondary School Association (GBSSA).

During his time with the Knights, Adam experienced the highlight of his career.

“My most memorable experience would be playing in the National Capital Bowl last year at the Rogers Centre,” recalls Adam.  “Although we lost the game, it was an amazing experience and I loved being able to play with my team going farther than we have before in school history.”

Throughout his career, the Ontario standout has been recognized for his stellar play on the field.  He is a three time Knights Offensive MVP.  Additionally, Adam has been named as Stallions Offensive MVP, Knights Team MVP and St. Joan of Arc Athlete of the Year (2013).

Achieving success has been a result of hard work for the Knights offensive talent.

“I work out at the school weight room and cardio and do strength training,” adds Adam of his training regimen.

There are three individuals that Adam singles out as being his main football and life influences.

“The most influential person in my life would easily be my dad,” expresses the Knights standout, who also plays baseball and hockey in addition to football.   “He has always been there for me in every aspect of my life; he taught me how to play football from an early age and has been there for me throughout my football career.”

“As well as my dad my coach Paul Milne has been very influential in football as he has coached me since grade 9. He has always been there to help me improve. My Offensive Coordinator Coach Forde has also had a big influence on my football career being with me in high school and summer football with the Stallions.”

In the coming months, Adam will prepare to embark on the next chapter of his gridiron and academic career.  Recently, he committed to the Carleton Ravens for the 2014 OUA season after deliberating between the Ottawa, Ontario campus and Windsor.  Prior to his commitment to the Ravens, the Knights standout enjoyed the busy recruitment process.

“The recruitment process has been exciting to say the least,” reflects Adam, who will pursue a degree in history at Carleton with the ultimate goal of becoming a history teacher. “Being able to visit school and having people interested in what you have to offer is always a great feeling.”

“Also a very challenging process because every school has amazing things to offer and it’s difficult making the right decision school wise.”

As he prepares for this new journey, Adam will take away with him the one key thing he’s learned from the game.

“I have definitely learned to have a greater respect for people,” says Adam.  “Football is a sport that can bring out differences but it also brings you together and teaches a strong respectful attitude towards your opponents.”
