Elites de QuΓ©bec 39 – Laval Laurentides LanaudiΓ¨re 22

With another solid offensive performance and a 39-22 victory over Laval-Laurentides-Lanaudière, Quebec Elites get to the U17 final for a second straight year at the Wilson Challenge.

After scoring 48 points against Nova Scotia last Sunday the offense resumed where it left off in this game.

Enjoying great field position due to an interception by Anthony Mennesson, Christophe Tremblay-Harnois found the end zone soon after. Β The running back from Roger-Comtois did it again a few minutes later making the score 14 to 0.

Laval-Laurentides-Lanaudière woke up in the second quarter, scoring their first points of the game by running back Dimitri Sinodinos on a 27 yard touchdown.  Soon after linebacker Olivier Tremblay recovered a fumble and ran 43 yards into the end zone to equalize the game.

The tandem of QB Zachary Cloutier and receiver Mathieu Blanchette connected for a long TD of 75 yards, to put Quebec back up by 7. Β The offense continued to add points and led 32 to 14 at halftime, eventually cruising to a 39 to 22 victory.

Elites QBFL 29 – Γ‰quipe MΓ©tro-Scolaire 16

Elites QBFL were effective on offense and stingy on defense in the second half to beat their counterparts 29-16.

QBFL, considered a favorite to win the Wilson Challenge in 2013, quickly displayed its strength on an 11-yard pass from quarterback Conor Sinclair to receiver Marcus Mitchell.

Γ‰quipe MΓ©tro-ScolaireΒ tied it with a fine individual effort by Dean Dalaroy. The Jean-Eudes Eagles eluded many defenders on his way to a 48-yard touchdown run.

The Quebec Bantam Football League countered again by the air.

Conor Sinclair threw his second touchdown pass firing a laser to Antoine CΓ΄tΓ© to give his club a lead of 15-8.

Running back Patrice Gem added seven additional points on a 6-yard run in the third quarter and quarterback Stephen Goulet found Marcus Mitchell for a 32 yard TD to widen the gap further.

The final score of 29-16 for QBFL means they will defend their title Sunday night.
