2013 Wilson Challenge: Monstars & Metro to meet in championship game (DAY 5 RECAP – U15)

There will be a new champion crowned in the under-15 category at the 2013 Wilson Challenge.

The Montreal Monstars unseated Rive-Sud Quebec 45-0 to advance to the championship final on Saturday.Β  Their opponents will be the Montreal Metro, who got by the WMFL Elites 23-20.

The 2013 Wilson Challenge under-15 Championship final will be played Saturday July 13th at Hebert Stadium.Β  Kickoff is 7:00pm.

MONTREAL MONSTARS 45, RIVE-SUD QUEBEC 0:

Running back Cedric Deusma was unstoppable yesterday as he went on an offensive tear to lead the Montreal Monstars to a 45-0 rout of the defending champions, Rive-Sud Quebec.

Deusma scored five touchdowns in the victory – three in the first half and two in the second half. He racked up 95 rushing yards on the day.Β  For his efforts on the field, Deusma was selected as the Monstars’ Player of the Game.

Troy Thompson scored a 16 yard major in the second half and had 58 rushing yards.Β  Xavier Ouellet led the defensive unit with two fumble recoveries and six tackles.Β  Kicker Zack Zergiotis was successful on a 33 yard field goal attempt to add to the Monstars score tally.

As for Rive-Sud, Theo Boutin was named the team’s Player of the Game as he registered six tackles and a quarterback sack in a losing cause.Β  Samuel Lapierre racked up five tackles while William Cameron had five tackles and a forced fumble.

Metro Montreal 2013 Wilson Challenge

MONTREAL METRO 23, WMFL ELITES 20:

Laurent Pelletier made a huge defensive play in the fourth quarter to propel the Montreal Metro 23-20 victory against the WMFL Elites and punch their ticket to the 2013 Wilson Challenge under-15 final.

The linebacker recovered a fumble in the final frame and ran into the end zone for a touchdown to seal the victory for the Metro.Β  He also added seven tackles and was selected as the Metro’s Player of the Game.

Jeremie Racine also registered seven tackles and had a fumble recovery in the win.Β  Running back William Marchand led the Metro’s offensive unit as he accumulated 110 rushing yards.

As for the WMFL Elites, defensive back Daniel Jamgotchian was named Player of the Game.Β  He registered seven tackles and added a recovery as well as a blocked kick.Β  Joshua Condo chipped in with six tackles.

Offensively, Elites running back Bruno Senechal scored a major and had 72 rushing yards in a losing cause.
