2013 Wilson Challenge: QBFL displays perfection, Team NS has rough outing (DAY 2: RECAP – U17)

The QBFL Elites could not have scripted perfection any better than they did yesterday at the 2013 Wilson Challenge.

The defending champions opened the under-17 portion of the tournament with a 42-0 shutout win over Outaouais.

Patrice Gemme was on fire for the QBFL Elites in the first half as he scored two quick touchdowns (nine and 46 yards) to put the team up 14-0.

Quarterback Conor Sinclair tallied on the scoreboard when he ran into the end zone for a 25 yard score to put the QBFL Elites up 21-0.

Defensive back Joseph Medley intercepted an Outaouais pass and scored a touchdown for the victors.

At halftime, the QBFL Elites enjoyed a 28-0 lead.

In the second half, quarterback Etienne Goulet and receiver Corey Hope Russo added majors to put the game away for the victors.

Medley was named Player of the Game for QBFL Elites.  To add with the touchdown interception, he registered a sack.  Gemme racked up 74 yards on five rushes with the two touchdowns he scored in the game while Nehemie Tshisungu registered three tackles and a quarterback sack.

Player of the Game for Outaouais was Felix-Antoine Pellerin, who racked up seven tackles in a losing cause.  Daniel McBride registered three tackles and a fumble recovery while Maxym Lavallee chipped in with three tackles.

The QBFL Elites will now face the Equipe Metro Scolaire on Thursday July 11th at 6:00pm at Hebert Stadium.

Metro Scoliaire 2013 Wilson u 15

EQUIPE METRO-SCOLAIRE 17, RIVE-SUD QUEBEC 11:

Equipe Metro-Scolaire took advantage of key offensive mistakes to defeat Rive-Sud Quebec 17-11.

Defensive standout Bruno Legace was Player of the Game for the winners as he registered eight tackles and a batted ball.

Running back Samuel Cameron was named Player of the Game for Rive-Sud Quebec as he amassed 86 rushing yards in the game.  Quarterback Edouard Lajoie had 208 passing yards and one passing touchdown while Yanick Fortier registered seven tackles in a losing cause.

Equipe Metro Scolarie will battle the QBFL Elites on Thursday July 11th at 6:00pm at Hebert Stadium.

 

LLL 2013 Wilson u 17

LEVIS LAURENTIDES LAUNADIERE 34, ESTRIE MAURICE CENTRE QUEBEC 8:

The tandem of quarterback Dimitri Sinodinos and receiver Frederik Antoine led the Levis Laurentides Launadiere to a 34-8 victory over Estrie Maurice Centre Quebec.

Sinodinos accumulated 216 passing yards, one passing touchdown and ran into the end zone for a score.  For his exceptional play, he was named the Launadiere’s Player of the Game. Antoine racked up 114 receiving yards and connected with Sinodinos for a touchdown. Defensive player Louis Tellier registered three tackles and a quarterback sack.

The Launadiere scored 25 points alone in the first half.

Charles Bechard-Marinier led the way for the Estrie Maurice Centre as he had 10 tackles, one sack, and a touchdown and blocked a kick.  He was named Player of the Game for the team.  Additionally, Boka Cedric Axel Kouao registered six tackles while Terry LeBlanc had three tackles and a quarterback sack.

Now, the Launadiere will face the Quebec Elites on Thursday July 11th at 8:30pm at Hebert Stadium.

Nova Scotia u 17 2013 Wilson

QUEBEC ELITES 48, TEAM NOVA SCOTIA 2:

Team Nova Scotia could not muster anything offensively or defensively.  Consequently, the Quebec Elites coasted by the visiting team 48-2.

Quebec quarterback Zachary Cloutier and receiver Mathieu Blanchette made it a long evening for Team Nova Scotia.  Blanchette, the Elites Player of the Game, connected with Cloutier for two touchdowns and he had 136 passing yards.

Christophe Tremblay-Hamois added two majors and 56 rushing yards for the Elites.  On the defensive side, Julien Matte-Lajoie led the way for the team with seven tackles.

Defensive lineman Isaac Melanson was named Player of the Game for Team Nova Scotia.  He had eight tackles in the loss. Additionally, Connor MacDonald chipped in with seven tackles while Marquis Diggs had 33 passing yards and a 28 yard punt return.

The Quebec Elites advance to play the Levis-Laurentides-Launadiere on Thursday July 11th at Hebert Stadium.
