2016 CFC All-Canadians, 3rd team

The following players were evaluated by the CFC scouting bureau and staff. They were also nominated by various coaches, players, parents, and media types.

The criteria for the CFC All-Canadian teams were that you first had to be nominated. Thank you to everyone who submitted your picks. You also had to have competed on a CFC50 or CFC10 team in 2016. Lastly, you have to be on track to qualify as a “National” in the Canadian Football League draft (CFL).

There were some impressive players that came our way. We evaluated over 200 nominations that were sent to us via email and social media. While some of the CFC100s may already be familiar household names, there were some newcomers that caught our eye.

#65 Cole Adamson, #95 Garrett Gatto

Cole Adamson from Oak Park, MB, ‘flew under the radar’ and dominates the line of scrimmage. Garrett Gatto, when the tape rolled, we saw why he had been on Team Alberta and was the most nominated player on the defensive line. He definitely is the pride of Strathmore, AB.

Offensively, we were extremely impressed with Adam Bennett who had just as many highlights from his high school senior year as he did from the previous summer’s Canada Cup where he led the tournament in rushing. Another intriguing player was Kyle Zakala whose team had a rough year, but his size and ability to catch the ball were first-rate.

The others on this team all received multiple nominations, had outstanding seasons to go along with eye catching game films. Here is the 2016 CFC Football All-Canadians, 3rd team.
