2026 CFC50 High School Rankings WEEK 7: A.B. Lucas join the ranks after big rivalry win in London

TOP HEADLINES

• It was a nearly flawless week across the board for our CFC50 ranked programs with only one team falling to an unranked opponent. That also applied cross borders with Huron Heights taking on River Rouge, who are currently the 90th ranked team in Michigan per MaxPreps. The outcome wasn’t looking too hot heading into the fourth quarter with River Rouge leading 17-7, but the Warriors weren’t ready for a silent bus ride back to Newmarket putting up 20 unanswered points to take home their second victory on American soil this year. They will be returning to Michigan again this week with a much bigger challenge on deck facing off against undefeated Cass Tech in Detroit, who are the 4th ranked team in the Wolverine State and 45th nationally per MaxPreps.

• The defending champs in Alberta are beginning to pick up some steam with Ernest Manning earning a hard fought 16-6 victory over St. Francis. This marks their third straight win after starting the season 2-2, and with one game left in the regular season against All Saints, they’re starting to gain momentum at the perfect time of year. Notre Dame are still in the driver seat with first seed locked up going into their finale against Centennial, but it feels like nobody is the clear cut favourite right now in Cowtown with the playoffs on the horizon.
• You never know what is going to happen during rivalry week, and that is especially true whenever South and A.B. Lucas meet between the white lines. We had South ranked 23rd after a perfect start to the season, while A.B. Lucas have been left on the outside looking in following a tough loss to Oakridge earlier in the year. Well none of that mattered this past week with A.B. Lucas pulling away for the 32-20 victory to improve their record to 3-1 on the campaign. Next week will be a very interesting one to watch with South now taking on Oakridge in their final regular season matchup, meanwhile A.B. Lucas prepare to take on St. Andre Bessette, who have had a rollercoaster type of year so far, but have the talent to compete from start to finish.
• Can anybody stop Saint-Jean-Eudes from grabbing their fourth straight DI Bol d’Or? Right now it’s looking like it’s going to take the perfect storm to catch the Condors after another 22-0 victory over Charles-Lemoyne to improve their record to 6-0. They’ve outscored their six opponents by a combined score of 215-42, and closest anybody got to tasting victory was a 13 point loss for Armand-Corbeil back in week two. Quebec is a province that has produced some shocking upsets in the past come playoff time, but it’ll take a monumental effort to take down this version of the Condors.

CFC100 CLASS 2027 RANKINGS

• Sticking in Quebec for another quick recap because who doesn’t love a good shootout? Armand-Corbeil and Academie Saint-Louis went full wild west combing for 95 points with the Arsenal getting the last shot off to come away with the 49-46 victory. It was a big win for Academie Saint-Louis, who are now tied at 3-3 with Charles-Lemoyne, and they still have a chance to finish third in the division if they can take care of business at College Notre-Dame and Seminaire Saint-Francois in their final two regular season games.
• Belmont are having one their best season’s in recent memory earning a spot of the CFC50 Rankings, but unfortunately they found out the hard way there’s still a long way to climb to reach the top of the ladder after suffering a 28-7 defeat at the hands of Vancouver College. The win improved the Fighting Irish record to 5-0 in British Columbia this season, while Belmont fall to 4-2 and will be looking for a big bounce back effort against a scrappy Sardis squad, who are coming off a huge 61-0 victory against W.J. Mouat.
