OFC JV: No time to panic in Toronto
The JV Toronto Jr. Argonauts are 1-2 after losing to the Huronia Stallions on Saturday with a final score of 29-9. βIt was a tough game with a lot of miscues,β says head coach Derek McDonald. βWe couldnβt make mistakes; instead we didnβt play our football.β
The Jr. Argos have lost to the two best teams at the JV level and are looking to bounce back quickly. βWe have had a hard schedule,β Says McDonald. βHowever, we are not worried. We just need to gel a bit more.β
The game was not without some offensive excitement for the Jr. Argos. Number 89 Dylan Ormesher had a touchdown on a 50 yard pass. βNo doubt, heβs got wheels,β Says McDonald. Unfortunately, The Jr. Argos would only get within 20 points before the end of the game.
Huronia has become the team to beat so far this season. They are now 3-0 and it will take another team’s best to put a blemish on their record.
This week the Jr. Argos will be heading up to Sudbury to face off against the Gladiators. βItβs a long drive up to Sudbury and we have to play well,β Says McDonald. The Gladiators are 1-2 and will be looking to improve their record at home.
The game will start at 1:00PM in Sudbury.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
