OVFL JV: Β Cowboys crushed by Warriors in Week 1
The junior varsity Halton Cowboys opened their season with a 47-8 loss to the Mississauga Warriors.
Coach Ken Mazurek told CanadaFootballChat.com that after a few early turnovers, it was nearly impossible for the Cowboys to recover.
As for the Warriors, the team played a very disciplined game and took full advantage whenever they were given a short field. The team were able to run the ball very effectively and controlled the clock for the majority of the game.
Meanwhile the Cowboys played very hard to the last whistle. Β However, mental mistakes resulted in the teamΒ playing catch up all game. The team will improve on a few areas for their upcoming games with the goal of bringing competitiveness in the game right up until the final whistle.
WEEK 1 HIGHLIGHTS:
– Alex Brophy: QB Β – used both his arm and legs to make several big plays
– Jordan Arruda: DL Β – great pressure on the QB
The Halton Cowboys will face the London Mustangs, Saturday, May 31.
