Bantam Stallions prepare for 2011 season

A solid group of about 20 players are taking part in indoor practices at the senior campus of Westwood High School. Every Tuesday until the end of March they are getting in shape by doing cardio exercises and playing touch football.

The team’s new head coach Kenny Mann is bringing his coaching experience from the midget team together with o-line coach Rob Job. His coaching staff is all set on the defensive side but on offense he is still looking for coaches for the following positions:

* offensive coordinator
* quarterbacks
* running backs
* receivers

Anyone with coaching experience at these positions can contact coach Kenny directly to join the team.

It should be noted that the QBFL will look much different this year compared to previous ones. It will be expanded and restructured to take into account the teams from the Montreal Metro league which will be joining it. The decision has not been finalized yet but it appears very likely that the teams will be first split into an AAA group and an AA group. The AAA teams will then be divided into two divisions similar to the structure of the midget league with 10 teams or so being put into a top division which will include North Shore, Sun Youth and Laurentian Wildcats while another 12 or so will be part of a lower division. The Stallions will be part of the AAA group but it is not known yet in which division they will play.
