Manitoba Bison Breakdown – Training Camp Day 5

The Manitoba Bisons football team continued with two-a-day practices at Investors Group Field on Thursday on day five of 2016 Training Camp. The team will then have a full day off before two-a-days again on Saturday.

Star of the Day
We have alluded to him during the first week but tonight was another strong day for highly sought out quarterback recruit Des Catellier. The 18 year old high school player from St. Francis in Calgary has continued to make plays and shone after a pickoff at the end of second practice but then going for a long bomb on the next play. Des is making a case to be in the mix during the backup QB battle.

Catch of the Day
Well this was going to be a great catch as recruit Derek Yachison made a nice one over the middle from a zinger of a throw by Theo Deezar, but this will be more of an accessory of the day. Kicker Ryan Jones was rockin’ Superman socks with capes after working MiniU during the day. It seemed to help him as he went 4/4 in first session for placekicking.

Dobie Says
“The first practice was okay but there was some good battles in the second practice with guys working hard before the break on Friday,” said Bison Football head coach Brian Dobieon Thursday.
