BLOG: Thursday Sacks (9)

Welcome to yet another week of Thursday Sacks. As former Indianapolis Colts coach, Jim Mora did rant on the chances that is team makes the playoff. We now have enter the CIS football stage of the playoffs as all four leagues played their semi-finals last weekend.

Acadia Axeman senior defensive back, Harrison da Costa.
De Costa had an incredible game in the 26-4 lost to the Saint Francis X-men on Saturday afternoon. He had nine solo tackles along with two assists for ground total of ten tackles. He also had one tackle for a loss. It sucks that Harrison did not end his CIS career on a high note.

Wilfred Laurier Golden Hawks second year, Godfrey Onyeka.
Onyeaka defensive performance did not play a factor in WLU’s 32-18 defeat at the hands of Western Mustangs. Onyeka had nine solo tackles and four assists for a total of 11 tackles. He also had one forced fumble in the lost.

Carleton Ravens third year linebacker, Leon Cenerini.
What seems like a growing trend this week picking players from teams who did not make it past round one. Cenerini like the other defensive players list above had a great game in Guelph’s 33-21 victory. Leon had three solo tackles and 12 assists for a total of nine tackles. He also had half of a sack for a loss of one yard.

Saskatchewan Huskies third year defensive back, Lance Bashutsky.
Lance Bashutsky had a good game against the number one team in the country, Calgary Dinos.Calgary beat Saskatchewan, 37-29. Lance had eight solo tackles along with two assists for a total of nine tackles.

UBC Thunderbirds fourth year linebacker, Mitch Barnett.
Barnett was a key player on the Thunderbirds 32-10 victory over Manitoba on Saturday afternoon. Mitch had two solo tackles and two assists for a total of three tackles in the game. His biggest impact was with two interception which were return 57 yards.
