Brampton’s Kashama signs with NFL Lions

Brampton, Ontario defensive end Kalonji Kashama (Eastern Michigan University Eagles)has signed a free agent contract with the NFL’s Detroit Lions. He was a tryout player for the team during voluntary mini-camp in April.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Kashama had 32 tackles last season and led the Eagles with 5.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss.

Prior to his final season at EMU, Kashama was selected as the 27th overall pick by Ottawa in the 2013 Canadian Football League Draft.
