British Columbia defensive end commits to NCAA’s Wyoming Cowboys (VIDEO)

CFC TOP 100 defensive end accepts offer from NCAA Division 1 school.

CFC TOP 100 Jonathan Kongbo will play south of the border in 2014.

The 6’6, 250 defensive end from Surrey, British Columbia has accepted a NCAA Division 1 FBS offer from Wyoming Cowboys.  Kongbo initially received an offer from the school in January.

“I was offered a full ride on January the 28th 2014,” said Kongbo.  “It came about after I sent them game film and they really liked what they saw.”

Kongbo had interest from Northern Colorado, Montana State, NCAA Division 2’s Simon Fraser as well as several CIS schools including University of British Columbia, Calgary, Western, Laval, and Manitoba.

This past weekend, he visited with the school and decided soon after. Overall, he is ecstatic to join the NCAA school.

“I’m overwhelmed with excitement and feel extremely blessed to be able to continue my football career at a great reputable University like Wyoming,” expressed Kongbo.  “Meeting the coaches, I felt like they were truly trying to build something special and I really wanted to be a part of that.”

“With a new staff from North Dakota State (FCS Championship), I got to meet Coaches who knew how to build a winning program, which really attracted me to Wyoming.”

Recently, the defensive standout recently played with the Holy Cross Crusaders of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA).  For his exceptional play on the field in 2013, Kongbo was named a Provincial ‘AA’ All-Star.
