Hailing from Red Deer, Alberta, Reiss Flunder didnβt want to stray too far from home. He said he chose the University of Alberta because of its proximity. He added that, βI saw a program on the rise at U of A.β
The 5β11, 220lbs eight-year veteran was also impressed with the teamβs head coach, Christopher Morris. βI like his coaching style and the emphasis on school,β the future Kinesiology student said.
Flunder has suited up for the Notre Dame Cougars (Central Regional Central Alberta Schools Athletic Association), the Prairie Fire (Calgary Area Midget Football Association) and the U16 edition of Team Alberta. He is a 2016 Central Alberta champion and a three-time all-star.
The new season canβt come soon enough. βIβm very excited to get started,β Flunder said.
