U SPORTS CLASS OF 2023 COMMITS

Alberta Golden Bears

The Golden Bears are pleased to welcome offensive lineman Kayden Solvason to their team. Solvason chose the U of A because of the coaches, and the experience Coach Morris has playing offensive line sealed the deal.

The 6’3″, 260lbs offensive lineman is undecided on what he’ll pursue in university, however, sports tourism has recently been on his mind. Solvason has suited up for the Chestermere Chiefs from Atom until Bantam, before playing for Chestermere High School.

“When I go to U of A, I want to come out of it with a higher education, while also being able to better myself for the team,” he states.

A new defensive back will also call Edmonton home in 2023. CFC100 DB Strachan Liberman will be moving from Vancouver to Alberta to pursue his dream of playing football at the next level after completing his high school career at CFC50 Notre Dame.

Alberta also signed another defensive back with Airdrie Alberta’s CFC100 DB Teigan Sattler announcing his commitment to the Golden Bears.

“I picked the University of Alberta because it’s close to home and my brother is already attending university there,” he says. “I also chose U of A because they have a great academic program along with amazing coaches and a great team culture.”

This past year the 6’0″, 160lbs was part of the CFC Prospect Game on TSN, and played football in Drumheller for eight years since Peewee. Sattler also played a year of spring football with the Airdrie Raiders as well. He will be enrolling in the faculty of education or business and hopes to expand his knowledge plus develop as a better football player and person so he can make an impact on the team.

Lastly the Golden Bears added a third defensive back with the signing of CFC100 DB Cole Ricken from Medicine Hat in Alberta. The 6’2″, 165lbs defensive back recently appeared in the CFC Prospect Game on TSN, and currently plays high school ball at Medicine Hat High School.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
