CEGEP DIVISION 1 RECAP (7): #CFC100 Arruda guides Cougars, Pierre unstoppable in Spartiates victory

#CFC100 Michael Arruda completed 27 passes in 44 attempts for 345 passing yards, 56 rushing yards on six carries and four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) as Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars defeated Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (CNDF) 41-25 in CEGEP Division 1 action this past weekend.

With this win, the Cougars remain perfect this season with a 7-0 record.  Meanwhile, CDNF suffered their first defeat and slipped to 6-1.

Thomas Hudon-Bertrand rushed for 241 yards on 22 carries.  #CFC100 Marc Antoine Pivin scored a touchdown and amassed 162 yards on eight receptions.  Additionally, Guillaume Conraud-Ares tallied two majors and had 56 yards on seven receptions for the Cougars.  Jamal Noel dashed into the end zone for a 15 yard touchdown score.

Vincent Blanchard added two field goals and five PAT’s.

On defence, Alexandre LeBreton had a tackle for a loss, six solo and four assisted tackles in the win.  #CFC100 Adam Auclair added an assisted and seven solo tackles.  Samuel Brodrique chipped in with two tackles for a loss, an assisted and five solo tackles.  Jeremie Berube caught an interception and Alain Cimankinda recorded a sack in the victory.

As for CDNF, David Pelletier completed 24 passes in 35 attempts for 278 yards and two touchdowns.  Vincent Forbes Mombleau tallied a major and racked up 108 yards on eight receptions.  Moreover, Antoine Dansereau-Leclerc scored a touchdown and had 76 yards on three receptions in the loss.

Jeremy Savageau added a score.  David Cote added a field goal and two PAT’s for CNDF.

Maxym Lavallee had nine solo tackles while Olivier Allie added seven.  Samuel Miranda Bizeau recorded three sacks and four tackles for a loss.  Tchad Ayotte also recorded a sack.

 

LEVIS-LAUZON FAUCONS 42, LIMOILOU TITANS 19:

At Gerard Chiquette on Saturday afternoon, Francis Bois completed 21 passes in 26 attempts for 205 yards and two touchdowns (one rushing, one passing) as Levis-Lauzon Faucons cruised to a 42-19 victory over Limoilou Titans.

Louis-Charles Moisan scored a touchdown and racked up 79 yards on four receptions for the Faucons.  Furthermore, he added two field goals and five PAT’s.  Vincent Breton Robert tallied a major and rushed for 115 yards on 13 carries.

On defence, Raphael Faucher recorded two sacks, two tackles for a loss, caught an interception and scored a touchdown.  Guillaume Trottier tallied a major as well as registered six solo and two assisted tackles.  Jean-Philippe Levesque had 11 solo and six assisted tackles.  William Caron recorded two sacks while Michael Bussieres and Jeremie Verreault each recorded a sack for the Faucons.

Gabriel Brault added a score and rushed for 181 yards on 14 carries for the Titans.  Marc-Antoine Hamel tallied a major in the loss.  Christophe Renaud added a field goal and two PAT’s.

Guillaume Lessard recorded a sack, registered an assisted and six solo tackles to guide the Titans defence. Olivier Boulet had two tackles for a loss and six solo tackles.  Bosake-Emmanuel Soku and Frederic Gagnon each caught an interception while Julien Matte-Lajoie recorded a sack.

VIEUX-MONTREAL SPARTIATES 39, EDOUARD MONTPETIT LYNX 10:

On Saturday afternoon at Edouard-Montpetit, Dynell Pierre scored three touchdowns and rushed for 255 yards on 28 carries as Vieux-Montreal Spartiates earned a 39-10 victory over Edouard-Montpetit Lynx.

#CFC100 pivot Frederic Paquette-Perreault completed 21 passes in 34 attempts for 229 yards and a touchdown.  Jefferson Pierre also added a score while Benjamin Lies had three field goals and four conversion attempts for the Spartiates.

On defence, Felix Pelletier recorded a sack, a tackle for a loss as well as three solo and six assisted tackles.  #CFC100 Andrew Seinet Spaulding had five tackles for a loss, recorded a sack as well as five solo and two assisted tackles.  Julien LeGuéhennec added two tackles for a loss and a sack.  Marc-Darley Casseus also recorded a sack in the win.

For the Lynx, Rida Malki tallied the lone major, rushed for 100 yards on 15 carries and had 77 yards on five receptions.  Tomas Concilio added a field goal and a PAT.

Olivier Desbois registered five solo and seven assisted tackles in the loss.  #CFC100 Rossini Sandjong Djabome had four tackles for a loss and recorded a sack.  Louis-Jean Guimond also had a sack for the Lynx.

FX GARNEAU ELANS 44, MONTMORENCY NOMADES 16:

At FX-Garneau on Saturday, the FX Garneau Elans defeated Montmorency Nomades 44-16.

ANDRE GRASSET PHENIX 26, VANIER CHEETAHS 16:

On Saturday night at Andre Grasset, the hosts Phenix got by the visiting Vanier Cheetahs 26-16.

For the Cheetahs, Samuel Emilus dashed down the field for a 40 yard touchdown.  Khalil Kerr also added a score.

Darren Kyeremeh led the Cheetahs defence with two tackles for a loss as well as five solo and five assisted tackles.  Benedicte Cayo recorded two sacks while Tyris Lebeau, #CFC100 Tomas Jack Kurdyla and Christos Aifantis each recorded one.
