CEGEP recruit opts for Laval

CEGEP defensive lineman joins RSEQ team’s 2016 class

Raphael Faucher will be continuing his gridiron career in his home province.

The 6’2, 230 pound defensive lineman from Saint-Ludger in Beauce, Quebec has committed to the Laval Rouge et Or.  Faucher will join the team for the 2016 RESQ season.

Ultimately, there were two specific reasons he chose the Rouge et Or.

“I committed to Laval because I want the play for a team who have the chance to win the Vanier Cup,” explained Faucher of his decision.  “Also, I think they are the team that I have the most chance to develop my potential.”

The defensive standout has previously played for CEGEP Division 1 team, Levis-Lauzon Faucons.  During the 2015 season, Faucher registered 26 tackles (including 31 assisted), recorded seven sacks, caught an interception, a touchdown, seven tackles for a loss and two blocked passes.  He ranks second in career tackles in CEGEP Division 1.
