CÉGEP10 (coll. div. 1) RANKINGS (3): Massive shakeup up at the top after a wild weekend in Quebec

1. Collège André-Grasset Phénix (2-0)

After outscoring their opponents 103-20 through two weeks, it seems only right to give the top nod toΒ AndrΓ©-Grasset, who put together another dominant performance in their 52-0 shutout over Montmorency.

2.Β Champlain College Lennoxville Β Cougars (2-0)

Coming in a close second are the Cougars, who are the only other team to remain perfect after a pair of big wins overΒ LΓ©vis-Lauzon and Vanier to begin the year.

3.Β Vanier College Cheetahs (1-1)

Vanier couldn’t get it done versus Ch-Lennoxville falling 24-14, but it wasn’t for a lack of effort and on a different day they could have seen themselves a notch higher on this list.

4.Β CΓ©gep LΓ©vis-Lauzon Faucons (1-1)

Who likes smash mouth football? The Faucons have vaulted themselves into the top four on the back of CFC60 Joanik Masse, who once again played a vital role in their massive win over CNDF.

5.Β Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (1-1)

It may seem like a drastic fall for CNDF, but they’ll have plenty of chances to make up ground with tons of football yet to be played. They couldn’t find a way to slow down the Faucons rushing attack, but more importantly they need to repair their passing game which struggled for long stretch in their first two games.

6.Β CΓ©gep du Vieux MontrΓ©al Spartiates (1-1)

The Spartiates deserve full credit for grinding out their first win of the season, and with any luck they could be 2-0 at the moment. Their offence has struggled though, which will need to be attended too if they want to compete deep into the playoffs.

7.Β CΓ©gep Limoilou Titans (1-1)

It’s the same type of story for Limoilou, who could be sitting at 2-0 right now if they didn’t struggle to put points on the board in their 16-11 loss toΒ Vieux MontrΓ©al. But don’t sleep on the Titans after two strong defensive performances to begin the year.

8. CΓ©gep Garneau Γ‰lans (1-1)

Garneau had a great bounce back week after a rough opening loss to Grasset that saw them allow way to many passing yards. They were challenged once again defensive, but the offence shined through with 35 points which was enough to secure the victory.

9.Β CΓ©gep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu GΓ©ants (0-2)

Saint-Jean were unfortunately on the losing end versus Garneau, but they’ll need to reset quick withΒ LΓ©vis-Lauzon and their running machine next on the schedule.

10. Collège Montmorency Nomades (0-2)

It’ll be a quick turn around for Montmorency, who’ll also need to erase the memory of last week’s defeat with a big game versus Ch-Lennoxville on tap.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
