The Central Alberta Buccaneers kicked off against the St. Albert Stars, June 11th on Lacombe’s MEGlobal Athletic Park. The 2-0 Bucs hoped to continue their winning streak while the 0-1 Stars hoped to get back to .500.
Unfortunately for the Stars, it appears that all three sides of the Bucs team showed up to play (rather than just the offense, which was the case in the prior two games). The defense was tenacious, blanking the Stars until late in the 4th; Special Teams saw Bucs pinning the Stars deep within their own territory on numerous occasions; the pirate offense was as potent as ever, putting up 35 points in the first half alone.
The final score was 41-8, Bucs.
